The challenge
- A single source of truth was needed for managing product data and processes, using Aras.
- CAD design approvals and a global web of supplier collaboration — more than 2,000 suppliers — had to be brought inside PLM, with the right access.
- Real-time CAD integration was needed for data import and for design reviews held in the system.
What we did
- Implemented Aras leveraging out-of-the-box capabilities, with MVP-1 deployed in a month.
- Built seamless supplier integration with secure access control.
- Optimised the PLM workflows for approvals, collaboration and data management.
- Engaged 5 PLM consultants, onsite and offshore, on a time and material basis.
What we found
An EPC business at this scale lives or dies on coordination, and the coordination problem here had three parts. Product data and processes needed a single source of truth. CAD design approvals had to happen somewhere everyone could see them. And more than 2,000 suppliers needed to collaborate inside PLM — which is a question about access control as much as about collaboration, because a supplier web that size cannot be given the same view of everything.
What we built
The implementation leaned deliberately on what Aras does out of the box, and that decision is what made the timeline possible: MVP-1 was deployed in a month. Supplier integration was built with secure access control, so more than 2,000 suppliers work inside the platform with each seeing what they should. Real-time CAD integration handles data import and lets design reviews happen in the system rather than around it. The PLM workflows themselves were optimised for approvals, collaboration and data management, with five PLM consultants onsite and offshore on a time and material engagement.
