The prostep ivip Symposium is the annual conference of the prostep ivip Association, a vendor-neutral forum where manufacturers, suppliers, IT vendors and research institutions work on product data management and industrial processes. The 2025 edition ran 13–14 May at the bcc Berlin Congress Center under the theme "Revolutionising Industries with Digital Twins and AI", drawing close to 650 participants from three continents across four keynotes, 60+ presentations and a sold-out exhibition of 36 exhibitors. SteepGraph exhibited at Booth 42, having joined the association earlier that year.

• Digital twins and AI have replaced "digital transformation" as the organising question. Two days of keynotes and 60+ sessions treated them as delivery problems, not strategy slides.
• The business case is being quantified now. Volkswagen presented its regional vehicle strategy on 3DEXPERIENCE targeting six-month development reductions and €200 million in savings — the kind of number that changes how a PLM programme gets justified internally.
• Data sovereignty is a European differentiator. Between Dassault's position on AI and data sovereignty and the IDSA session on trustworthy data ecosystems, who controls the data came up as often as what the data enables.
• A vendor-neutral room asks better questions. With 36 exhibitors and no single platform owning the agenda, the conversations at our booth were about migrating between ecosystems rather than deeper into one.
