- Diverse Data Types- Dealing with various data types such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor, ME10 data, scanned PDFs, and non-CAD data like Office documents introduces complexity in the migration process.
- Migration Data Size- Managing a substantial migration data size of 8,996,611, including objects, relationships, and files, poses a significant challenge regarding storage, transfer, and processing capabilities.
- Multi-site, Multi-phase Migration– Executing a two-step migration across multiple sites introduces coordination and synchronization challenges.
- Poor Data Quality: Addressing issues related to poor data quality, such as missing attributes, duplicate records, and unsupported characters.
Solution We Provided
- Structure Extraction– Extracted the data structure from the source system, including its relationships and dependencies, to facilitate mapping and transformation processes.
- Selective Migration: Implementing a selective migration strategy to transfer only the latest released and initial non-released data requires a meticulous approach to identifying and migrating specific subsets, adding complexity to the migration process.
- SteepGraph ETL Migration Framework Utilization: Leveraged SGS’s own ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) Migration Framework to streamline and automate migration processes.
- Managed a very strict Go-Live window of 2-3 days, ensuring meticulous planning, coordination, and execution.
- Delta Migration Approach: Utilized a delta migration approach to transfer only the changes or updates made to the data since the last migration, minimizing downtime and reducing the complexity of the migration process.
