Reports Worth Sharing With Customers, and an Image Viewer That Costs Fewer Clicks

This is a long-standing Aras estate — the customer is one of the oldest Aras customers there is — so the work was not implementation but improvement. Two things were holding the system back. Report generation was slow enough to be a productivity problem, and reports are not an internal artefact here: they go out to the customer’s own OEM customers. Separately, a different part of Aras was simply awkward to use, with image retrieval taking more clicks than the task warranted.

SteepGraph’s Aras Advanced Toolset was implemented on the existing platform rather than alongside it. Dynamic report generation replaced the slow path, producing reports in a form that can be shared directly with customers. An image viewer cut the clicks needed to open any image inside Aras. Around both, an AMS engagement provides continuing support and improvement across DFMEA, MPP and the other modules already in use — three consultants offshore, on time and material, working to the business users’ and IT team’s changing needs.
